The leak: New evidence suggests that Apple isn’t quite done with iOS 14 just yet, as shared by developer Brendan Shanks.
- A new reference in Xcode 13 beta 4 shows an unreleased iOS 14.8 update that hasn’t been released yet…a bit strange considering that iOS 15 is expected to launch sometime next month
- Reporter Filipe Espósito of 9to5Mac suggests this could be part of Apple’s plan that enables users to stay on iOS 14 for longer, which Apple has announced they will allow for the first time through continuous security updates and supplemental changes
Our take: This is odd that Apple would be working on a major 14.x update so close to the release of iOS 15.0, but it makes sense considering Apple’s new update strategy (which is great for enterprise customers, by the way).
