Redesigned iMac may feature A14T chip, Apple-designed GPU

The rumor: Apple is planning to launch a revamped iMac with a modified A14 chip next year, according to The China Times (77.8% accurate).

Our take: While The China Times is not known for their solid track record, they have done pretty good this year with the claims they’ve made. Looks like we are only getting a new MacBook with Apple Silicon this year.

Apple Silicon ‘MacBook’ refresh possible this year with up to 20 hour battery life

The rumor: Apple is planning to reintroduce the MacBook line later this year with an A14X processor inside, according to The China Times (66.7% accurate).

  • The revamped MacBook is said to way less than 1kg (2.2 lbs)
  • You may be able to get 15-20 hours of battery life due to the new architecture
  • A Retina display will measure 12 inches diagonally

Our take: This marks the second time we’ve heard that Apple is planning to announce the revival of the ‘MacBook’ lineup later this year. Seems like the strategy will definitely be to start small and build up to more expensive devices later on.
