The rumor: Apple is nixing the notch in favor of a dual-cutout design, according to Ross Young (100% accurate).
- On iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max, Apple is apparently planning to place 2 cutouts in the display for the camera and Face ID array…rather than a larger single cutout to house them both as we’ve seen since iPhone X
- Young specifically says that it will not be a single pill-shaped design as we have seen on Huawei phones
Our take: Well, I hate this. If anyone else, other than Young who is 100% accurate, said that Apple would be opting for a an off-center dual-cutout design…I just wouldn’t believe it. But, I have to considering his track record. So as of right now, this is the design…which actually leaked months ago from an account called ShrimpApplePro on Twitter.
