    Apple Glass features revealed

The news: Apple’s highly-anticipated AR Glasses project may be called “Apple Glass” and pair to an iPhone similar to the Apple Watch, according to Jon Prosser.

    • They’ll cost $499, with prescription lenses available for additional charge
    • A LiDAR sensor is situated on right side
    • An included stand charges them wirelessly
    • Built-in displays sit in both lenses
    • They will be announced as a “one more thing” in Fall 2020 or at a March 2021 event

Our take: This is situated to be the most significant Apple product of the next decade. Nobody knows if they will take off, and I have some serious doubts about their success, but their implications are as exciting as a world before the iPhone. In 10 years, will the idea of carrying around an iPhone be outlandish?

The news: The big, smaller MacBook Pro update isn’t happening until next year, according to L0vetodream.

    • The new model with a larger 14-inch display is coming sometime in 2021

Our take: Apple just refreshed the 13-inch MacBook Pro recently with a new Magic Keyboard…and some other minor tweaks. If you want something more substantial, wait to upgrade. The current design just looks grossly outdated next to the revamped 16-inch model.

10.8-inch iPad coming later in 2020; larger iPad mini in 2021

The news: Apple is working on a new versions of the lower-cost iPads, according to Ming-Chi Kuo (via MacRumors)

    • A larger 10.8-inch budget iPad is coming in the second half of 2020
    • A larger 8.5-9-inch version of the iPad mini

Our take: We’ve heard of Apple working on a new 11-inch iPad Air for later this year, so perhaps the screen size will be closer to 10.8-inches instead. As for the iPad mini…would a 9-inch display even classify the devices as ‘mini’ anymore?

    • And finally: an updated Logic Remote companion app lets you interact with the new Live Loops interface.

Our take: Logic 10.5 aims to keep veteran and aspiring Logic producers from getting board and moving on to other tools from competitors like Ableton Live or FL Studio. Live Loops and the new step sequencer, specifically, are huge quality of life upgrades for producers of any genre. This could easily inspire a whole new wave of creativity for music makers.
