The leak: Apple is preparing to release new products soon, according to import data seen by 91mobiles.
Here’s what has reportedly been imported to India for testing…
A budget iPhone with a price of around ~$300 (models A2595, A2783 and A2784)
A new iPad with a price between $500-700 (models A2588 and A2589)
A budget iPad priced at ~$300 (models A2757 and A2761)
Apple is said to hold an event to announce these new products in March or April.
Our take: Even more confirmation that a new iPhone SE and iPad Air are getting ready to launch. Curiously, 91mobiles also cites a new budget iPad, too. Considering that Apple just updated it in September, would we really see a new one this soon? I doubt it.
The leak: Our first look at iPhone 13 Pro has been leaked by 91Mobiles (not yet tracked, but accurate in the past).
A larger camera module, that looks identical to iPhone 12 Pro Max module, may be making its way to the 6.1-inch Pro model this year
Dimensions are also changing a bit: 146.7 x 71.5 x 7.6 mm, compared to 146.7 x 71.5 x 7.4mm (that’s 2.63% thicker)
There’s also redesigned, skinnier notch with the speaker relocated to the bezel
Our take: Just like the 6.1-inch iPhone 13 first look from yesterday, not a whole lot of changes this year. Very good news that the notch is shrinking, and the thickness change will probably be unnoticeable.
The leak: Purported schematics for a new 2020 iPad have leaked, courtesy of 91mobiles.
A 10.8-inch display is surrounded by thin, iPad Pro-like bezels
Face ID is available on the front of the tablet
USB-C has replaced the long-standing Lightning port
Dual speakers and four mics are here, too
An updated Smart Connector appears to support the Magic Keyboard
Our take: I’m much less convinced of these schematics than of the iPad Air quick start guide leak from earlier this week. 91mobiles says the schematics are “from a trusted source,” and the site does have a long history of sharing new designs exclusively. But they also claim the new iPad will have “inductive charging,” which…doesn’t make sense unless Apple makes the next iPad out of glass.
