iPhone 12 Pro models may get an extra hour of battery life, ‘significantly extended digital zoom’

The rumor: Some iPhone 12 models are getting upgraded battery life and big upgrades to zoom, according to Max Weinbach (63% accurate).

  • iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max are expected to get one additional hour of battery life at the minimum
  • The smaller iPhone 12 mini will have worse battery life than iPhone 11 due to size constraints
  • Digital zoom, across all iPhone 12 models is set to see ‘significantly extended digital zoom, both quality and distance wise’

Our take: With reports earlier this year of iPhone batteries getting smaller, it’s great to hear that Pro models will still see an increase in battery life. Plus, digital zoom seeing significant upgrades will be great for shooting at a distance.

iPhone 12 may come in new orange and blue colors

The rumor: Apple is bringing at least two new colors to the standard iPhone 12 models, according to Max Weinbach (57.8% accurate).

  • The possible new colors (of which 3 are possible but only 2 may make the cut) include:
    • Light blue
    • Light orange
    • An updated version of violet (purple)
  • These are said to come in addition to a new dark blue color on the Pro models

Our take: Examining the invitation, there’s been a lot of speculation about what the orange component of the styling could mean. Maybe this is it.
